UCSB engineers can study abroad, and should! By spending a year, a semester or even just a summer studying engineering abroad, you will greatly enhance your undergraduate experience and improve your career prospects as well.

Why study abroad? 

There are SO many reasons to study abroad. Here are a few:

  • Engage in academics, research, internships & special programs.
  • Develop self-confidence and independence.

What classes should I take?

Search Gaucho Credit Abroad and the UCEAP Course Catalog to get an idea of the types of engineering courses UC students have taken around the world.  UCEAP students automatically earn UCSB credit for the work they complete abroad. However, application of credit to major requirements is subject to the discretion of the UCSB major department.

How do I get started?

  • Go to the College of Engineering Study Abroad webpage.
  • Make an appointment with the College of Engineering EAP advisor, Frances.
  • Identify what coursework you must complete abroad.
