Advice for STEM majors:

Advice for performing arts major:
I highly recommend studying abroad as a performing arts major! You really learn so much about different performance cultures, histories, styles, ways of movement, etc. that you may not necessarily get in the US.
It really opened my eyes about, for me specifically,
Dance and how I can incorporate other teaching styles, cultures, and methodologies into my way of movement                                      .

Izaya Martinez

Advice for students considering living with a host family abroad:
I highly recommend considering a homestay while abroad as it helps immerse oneself into the culture and environment of your selected country.
It is a worthwhile experience, especially if you are studying in a non-English speaking country, as a homestay gives you the opportunity to practice your speaking skills with your host-family.

Advice for students who would like to go more than once or to multiple places:
You are not limited to just studying abroad once or in one country! I was able to study abroad in both Spain and Brazil, fully immerse myself in both cultures and classrooms, and still be on track to graduate

Start planning your coursework and communicating with your department advisors as early as possible--even if you aren't completely sure you want to study abroad,
it is totally worth it to be prepared and take some stress off of making your arrangements!
